Images that hold feeling, preserve the story, and reflect the beauty of the ordinary — across Salt Spring and Vancouver Island.
The approach
I photograph with intention: quietly observing, gently guiding, always looking for the in-between. Photography is less about posing than presence — about making space for you to be seen exactly as you are, in exactly this moment.
Nothing here is about performing for the camera. It's about paying close attention until the real thing shows up, and knowing when to press the shutter.
What I photograph
Timeless, one-of-a-kind portraits made by hand using the 19th-century wet plate collodion process. Nothing else looks or feels like it.
A gentle, relaxed session that honors the season you're in — grounded in presence, not perfection. No stiff poses, no forced smiles. Just your people, as they actually are with each other.
For artists, thinkers, business owners, and anyone who wants to be seen clearly and creatively. A portrait that looks like you on your best real day — not a costume of you.
Thoughtful documentation of the gatherings that matter — celebrations, community events, and the quiet moments around the edges that most cameras miss.
Images that show who you are and what you make — clearly, beautifully, and with soul. For creatives and businesses who'd rather look like themselves than like everyone else.
Let's document it with care
Building something, celebrating something, or simply slowing down to mark time? I'd love to help.
